About me

Liscensed Professional Counselor

My name is Jeanette Loudermilk, and I am a psychotherapist who has an approach of unconditional positive regard for others. I’ve been a therapist upwards of 10 years and I came to believe that while we all have common human aspects of who we are, we each embody something that is uniquely specific to us that identifies our individuality. Over years of sitting with individuals and families I have come to believe that one is greater than the distresses they encounter. Emotions are real and negative emotions such as prolonged sadness, explosive anger; feelings of frequent frustration or being overwhelmed can all be debilitating and disruptive to your daily functioning and can even detract from your quality of life.

I am excited to take a journey of exploration and healing with you as you begin a new cycle of quality-of-life enhancement! Welcome to N-Side Out Counseling Services, PLLC.

Specialties and Expertise

Every individual is significantly unique. Your emotions are valid and deserve acknowledgement. Moreover, every moment I spend with you demands my full presence and attention.

Depression

Symptoms of depression can often stifle one’s motivation and drain you of energy to effectively and happily navigate daily tasks and routines. They can be heavy and burdensome leaving you with a sense emptiness, feeling as though you are stuck in time. Most notably they can rob you of your ability to experience the pleasure of the moment. There is hope. Through psychoeducation and unconditional positive regard, together we can explore avenues you can take to overcome the challenges associated with this condition.

Anxiety

Do you experience doomsday thinking, entertain worst case scenarios or are afraid and dread taking a next step, while desperately wanting to move forward? Do you question your self-efficacy and capability? These are all states that can lead to procrastination and avoidance. Through cognitive restructuring, you can develop a vision of success-driven approaches to life. You may be accustomed to asking what if it doesn’t work? My question is what if it does work? Let’s explore the alternative.

Alcohol and Substance Use

Alcohol and substance use often carry a self-stigmatizing connotation of guilt and shame. That concept alone can solidify the proverbial “vicious cycle” of consumption and negative experience. Sobriety is a mentality. Recovery is a way of life, a lived experience intricately connected to the way one thinks. Addiction does not have to be terminal, yet it has the capacity to be just that! You can take the journey of de-stigmatizing addictive tendencies while on the road to recovery. Let’s develop a map unique for your special journey.
